EARLY CHILDHOOD DENTAL CARIES PREVENTION
Early Childhood Dental Caries Prevention Project in Children of Program Hplus Clients
and
Determination of the Level of Risk of Dental Caries in Adult Clients
- Dental caries is an infectious condition affecting the majority of population
- The so-called Early Childhood Caries - ECC is a global problem and develops in children under the age of three years
- ECC affects approximately one-third of the paediatric population, and the number of affected children further increases at pre-school and school age
- Dental caries develops as a result of the interaction of several groups of aetiological factors active for a certain period of time: the cariogenic streptococci present in the biofilm of a dental plaque utilize saccharides present in our meals on susceptible enamel surface that is then demineralized by arising organic acids
- The colonization of the oral cavity of a child takes place mainly through the so-called vertical transmission from the mother of the child, while later transmission of the cariogenic flora occurs mainly horizontally
- The consequences of early childhood dental caries influence and disrupt the development of permanent dentition and the formation of dental arches, increase the rate of caries of permanent teeth, reducing the quality of life of the affected child
PREVENTION OF DENTAL CARIES
- Systematic removal of the biofilm of dental plaques
- Reduced intake of saccharides nourishing the cariogenic microflora and strengthening of enamel surface resistance through locally applied fluroride
- The first step after the oral cavity has been investigated should be the determination of the level of risk of dental caries using the diagnostics of microflora spectrum with Dentocult SM
EARLY DENTAL CHILDHOOD CARIES
In cases of early dental childhood caries, the approach that has been shown most effective is primary prevention of this infectious disease. This contemporary preventative program consists in the cooperation of paediatrician and paediatric dentist. As part of a preventive check-up at the age of 2 years we offer your children the investigation with Dentocult for free, and for 200 CZK to other interested clients.
